Why Im doing it: Sharing My Journey

People follow fitness regimens and workout for many different reasons. For health, physical benefits, physique improvement, social interaction, because a doctor said to...
Training in the gym has always been my place of solitude. Headphones on, hat brim down low, leggings and a comfy shirt - this is my oasis - my home away from home. While I'm exerting energy and putting in all my effort, I am recharging.
**Dedicating time everyday, or, almost everyday, to care about yourself, is crucial to your wellbeing and the wellbeing of the people around you.

Competing, for me, is a milestone marking what I have acheived in my daily life. I enjoy physical fitness for all of its benefits so much that it motivates me to challenge myself to higher levels. Competing pushes me to combine all that I already love to do and strive to be my best at it. Working out to build strong, lean muscle. Cooking healthy food, caring for my family and myself. Practising the art of creating balance between all of my priorities.
Timing has special meaning to me as so many things in my life have happened, not nessesarily when I wanted it, but when needed it. The time frame of where my competition falls is another example of this. It marks 10 years since I was cured of cancer, 1 year since I gave birth to my son and 6 months since I started this journey of a plant-based lifestyle. On November 4th I will be on stage, celebrating life.

Learning through others' experiences has influenced my way of life, for the better, in ways I cannot begin to explain. I want to pay-it-forward and be that person for my son, my family, friends and maybe someone I don't even know. I want to promote this way of living, like so many others have done before me, to prove that a plant-based lifestyle defines what it is to be healthy, strong, compassionate and aware. I want to be a part of this movement, the community, the solution, this beautiful way of life. For my mind, body and soul. For all beings on our planet. For health and environment. For generations to come. I believe this is the way of the future and I want to be an example to learn from. So, I am sharing my journey for that reason.
