Food or drink, it's both I think: Cold Spice Smoothie Bowl

The smoothie bowl was news to me until just recently, but what a fantastic idea! I often find myself in the kitchen, early morning, baby in hand, rumbling hunger pains. I'm trying to decide if I want my wake-me-up smoothie or to curl up on the couch with Jack and a bowl of banana and spice oatmeal. The smoothie bowl is not having to make early morning decisions befor coffee - it's like the unicorn of breakfast.

Cold Spice Smoothie Bowl

In your blender put the following ingredients:

7 ice cubes

1/2 cup organic almond milk

2 teaspoons of Spirulina (I use Organika)

2 teaspoons of Ashwagandha Root powder (I use Organic Traditions)

1 scoop of chocolate vegan protein (I use Iron Vegan Sprouted Protein)

1/2 a of frozen banana (ripe before freezing)

1/4 of an avocado

1/2 cup of frozen blueberries

2 cups of spinach

1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon of turmeric - with a pinch of black pepper

1/4 teaspoon of mild curry

Blend, then pour into a cereal-sized bowl and top with a 1/2 serving of SVRY "Fez" Topper. The SVRY Topper makes this bowl feel like a morning bearhug, giving it a nutritional boost and beautiful texture adding warmth and spice to the chocolate flavour. This would pare wonderfully with a sunrise moment at the cottage, on the dock, leggings, big cozy sweater, listening to the loons call out, while the little bugs dance silently on the crystal clear lake... OK - that escalated quickly!
